Sturbridge Village Field Trip

Event Date:
Monday, May 9, 2016 - 8:15am - 3:45pm
On May 9th, 2016, SSA 4th Grade went on a field trip to Old Sturbridge Village in Massachusetts accompanied by their lead teacher and Head of School Barbara Wolfe along with some parent chaperones. The students have been learning about Colonial times and a trip to an early 19th century rural village was just the thing to enhance their learning experience. Not only did they get to witness people in traditional costume demonstrating the various trades of the time, but they got to participate as well! They began by creating some reverse glass artwork and ended up helping some of the local farmers load firewood into their cart. A beautiful, sunny and fun afternoon filled with learning and enjoying each other's company. We are so proud of our students who always demonstrate a deep knowledge of whatever subject they are studying as well as wonderful manners.
